Who publishes this Upscayl guide?
The Pixel Bench editorial team writes and maintains every page on this site. We are not part of the Upscayl project and are not affiliated with or paid by its developers. Upscayl is built by the Upscayl team and published on GitHub under the AGPL-3.0 licence; the screenshots on these pages are the project's own and are credited under each one.
How do we check the facts on these pages?
Every default, label and file name on this site was read from Upscayl's tagged source code, not from memory or other websites. The current pages were checked against Upscayl 2.15.0 on September 27, 2026: the settings file for defaults, the English interface file for menu labels, the upscale commands for output names and folders, and the build configuration for the installer. Download hashes come from GitHub, the winget manifest or the Homebrew cask, and one was computed by us. The editorial policy lists each source.
When are pages reviewed?
Pages are reviewed whenever Upscayl ships a new release. A daily job compares the source files our pages cite between the checked release and the new one. If none changed, the checked version moves forward on its own; if any changed, the site keeps the current pages and a person re-reads the changed files before updating the copy. Each page shows when it was last verified and which release it matches.
What have we not tested?
We have not benchmarked Upscayl on our own hardware, so these pages give no speed figures and make no quality claims beyond what the project documents. Where a step depends on your GPU, the page says so and tells you how to test it on your own computer with one small image.
